About Deep Blue Sea
Deep Blue Sea Ltd. is a Malta company (C 104037) trading in live Atlantic bluefin tuna. Each season we sign fishing agreements with licensed purse seine vessel owners, buy their catch and deliver it live to tuna farms. We stay with the operation from the pre-season preparation of the vessels to the caging of the fish at the farm, and we provide farming solutions to the farms we supply.

What we do during a bluefin tuna season.
Farm services and compliance
Divers and transfer operations: we help farms select their diving teams and arrange the agreements with the diving companies, directly or through partners, for a full service including support vessels, diving equipment, video filming of transfers and fish assessment.
Farming solutions: we advise farms on caging, feeding and harvesting, and coordinate with them the cage delivery plan, cage geo-localisation and the hand-over authorisations.
Compliance and documentation: we follow each catch through ICCAT quota and vessel authorisations, regional observers (ROP-BFT), transfer declarations, electronic bluefin catch documents (eBCD), EUR.1 certificates and import licences.
Supply and operations at sea
Live bluefin tuna supply to farms: we buy live bluefin tuna caught under ICCAT quota and sell it to tuna farms, delivered in towing cages to the farm site.
Fishing operation support: we work under fishing agreements with vessel owners and help them prepare and run the campaign, with crew, equipment and maintenance.
Tugs and towing: we arrange the tugs and towing cages that bring the fish from the fishing ground to the farm.
Fishing Responsible
Every fish we trade is caught within the ICCAT quota of its flag state, by an authorised vessel, with an observer on board, and is traceable through its eBCD from catch to farm.
